Don’t miss out on Middlebury’s best kept secret for used books!
The Friends hold their sale of used books (and occasionally media) usually on the first Saturday of each month in the Community Meeting Room on the lower level of the library from 10:00 AM. to 2:00 PM, unless otherwise announced. Come early for the best selection! Admission for members of the Friends begins a 9:45AM!! A minimum donation of $5 is all to takes to become a member.

The Fiction table during the sale
Each month we try to emphasise a specific genre of books, but all genres are available at each sale.
The book sale raises more than $5,000 annually to help fund programs for children and adults, including the annual Summer Reading program.
Books for children and adults are always available for sale in the Last Word alcove on the first floor of the library when the library is open.
Apart from a few specially priced items adult hard backed books are $2.00; while trade paperbacks are $1.00 and mass market paperbacks are $0.50. Children’s books are $0.50.
Many unsold books find their way to the “Free” Table on the library’s first floor adjacent to the

The Free Table
elevator. Please help yourself to books from this location. If you wish, you may make a donation to the Friends in the box located on the wall to the left of the table.
